Introduction
Green Nomads is a casual environmental volunteering program targeting Australia's large transient population, in particular the Grey Nomads.
By joining the program travellers are able to access numerous volunteering opportunities with local community natural resource management (NRM) groups throughout Queensland to undertake activities, including community education and manual labour based activities such as tree planting, while they travel around our beautiful state.
Have fun, meet new friends, learn new skills and visit some very special places. Become a Green Nomad today!
What's involved?
Joining the program involves paying an annual subscription, which gives volunteers access to a 'member only' section of this website, and where they can browse and reigister to attend volunteering events that fit in with their travel itineraries.
How much?
Three levels of subscription are available:
- Individual - $22 per annum
- Couple - $33 per annum
- Family - $44 per annum (for a total of five family members).
How do I join?
To sign up and become a Green Nomad you can fill in our online application form. At present we can only accept offline payments, these being cheque or money orders. More details/instructions concerning how to join are provided when you trigger the online application process.
Other Benefits
By becoming a Green Nomad you not only can participate in a range of volunteering opportunities around Queensland, but you also join our online community. In the members only section of the website you can keep in touch with fellow Green Nomads via private messaging, share conversations and pictures on the community's forum and photo gallery and keep track of your friends latest location via a map.
